Proteau Earns WIAC Athlete of the Week Honors
MADISON, Wis.—Paul Proteau was named the WIAC Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week for Men's Cross Country after being the top collegiate team finisher in this weekend's race.
Proteau, a freshman from Riverside, Illinois, finished third overall at the Gene Davis Invitational hosted by Lawrence University (Wis.) on Oct. 8. Proteau's time of 25:33 is a personal record and the fastest time for a true freshman at UWO since 2017.
Behind Proteau's personal best, the Titans easily outpaced the runner-up Ripon College (Wis.), scoring 35 team points.
The Titans return to action on Oct. 15 at the Jim Drews Invitaitonal, hosted by UW-La Crosse.
