Neri Chosen As WIAC Cross Country Athlete Of The Week

The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference named UW-Oshkosh sophomore Eduardo Neri as its Kwik Trip Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the period of Oct. 4-10.

Neri finished sixth among 116 runners as UW-Oshkosh captured the team title at the Lawrence University Gene Davis Invitational held Oct. 9 at the Reid Golf Course in Appleton.

Neri completed the 8,000-meter race in a time of 26:30.0.

Ripon College's David Potter took first place in the individual competition with his time of 26:00.5. Lawrence University's Sam Brewer finished second to Potter with his time of 26:14.1.

UW-Oshkosh tallied 31 points to outscore its seven other challengers in the team category. Lawrence University finished second in the meet with 59 points while Ripon College placed third with 72 and UW-Stevens Point fourth with 93.
