Titans Finish Second At Gene Davis Invitational
Zach Adams (Jr. • Lake Geneva) took sixth individually as
UW-Oshkosh ran to a second-place finish at the Gene Davis
Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 8) in Appleton.
UW-Whitewater captured first in the team standings with 22 points,
followed by UW-Oshkosh with 68, Carthage College with 72, Lawrence
University with 76 and UW-Stevens Point with 139. Lake Forest
College (Ill.) totaled 182 points to round out the six-team
field.
Adams completed the 8,000 meters in 27:10, while fellow Titan
Jordan Carpenter (Fr. • Ashwaubenon) crossed the line 10th at
27:28. Nick Newcomer (Sr. • Winnebago, Ill.) continued
UW-Oshkosh’s results with his 17th-place mark of 28:04, as
Brett DeNure (Jr. • Monroe) finished 18th in 28:06 and Max
Kramer (So. • Oshkosh) 20th in 28:15.
UW-Whitewater’s Dan Machmueller and Mathias Werve completed
the race with a one-two finish of 26:26 and 26:42, respectively.
Jake Mahaffey (Carthage College) came in third with a time of
26:43, while the Warhawks’ Joe Dixon snatched fourth in 26:50
and Sam Stevens (Lawrence University) rounded out the top five at
26:53.
The Titans also had Steve Stasek (Fr. • Stanley) come in 28th
place at 28:35, Brian Peterson (Jr. • Toluca, Ill.) rank 33rd
at 28:50 and Ryne Scopp (Fr. • Kenosha) list 47th at 30:28.
UW-Oshkosh will host the Brooks Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 15)
at the Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.
