Titans Win Six Events, Take Second At WIAC Championship

PLATTEVILLE, Wis.- UW-Oshkosh finished the WIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship (Presented by Culver's) with five Saturday (May 4) event wins and 12 All-WIAC mentions.

The team accumulated 166 points across the two day meet to finish second in the eight team field. The Titans won six total events with 13 compiled All-WIAC honors. UW-La Crosse won the meet with 236 points.

Caleb Cornelius (Jr. • Racine) and Kyle Wisniewski (Fr. • New London) both cleared 2.09 meters in the high jump to claim the top two spots on the event. Both set career best heights and are now tied for the fourth-best finish in program history. Cornelius previously won the high jump at the WIAC Outdoor Championship at the 2022 when he jumped 2.05 meters to help the Titans win the team title.

Isaiah Isom (Jr. • Lansing, Ill.) won UW-Oshkosh's fifth shot put title since 1972 with a best cast of 17.43 meters, the seventh-furthest in program history.

In the 4x100-meter relay, Danny Vinson (Jr. • Berrien Springs, Mich.), Rashaad Henderson (Jr. • Racine), Londyn Little (Jr. • Columbia, Ill.) and Dylan Gramley (So. • Plainfield, Ill.) raced a conference meet and facility record time of 40.36 seconds on their way to All-WIAC First Team honors.

With a personal best time of 3:46.40 and the second fastest finish in program history, Steven Potter (Sr. • Oak Creek) collected second place in the 1,500-meter run. He later took second in the 800-meter run with a 1:51.81 finish. They were also his fourth all-conference honor on each event.

Davian Willems (So. • De Pere) now owns the UW-Oshkosh record for the fastest indoor and outdoor sprints after setting the 100-meter dash record at 10.31 seconds in a second place finish.

UW-Oshkosh swept all three All-WIAC positions in the 200-meter dash, led by Little, who set the program and facility records on the event on Friday (May 3). He finished first in 21.16 seconds, followed by Henderson in 21.18 seconds and Gramley in 21.36 seconds.

Charlie Nolan (So. • Normal, Ill.) earned All-WIAC First Team in the decathlon after taking home a second team honor a year ago. He broke the facility record with 6,830 points, winning five of the individual events. Aden Sears (Jr. • Eureka, Ill.) took second with 6,600 points and an event win while RJ Bosshart (Sr. • Muskego) accumulated 6,410 points for third place with an event win.

After the conclusion of the meet, Henderson was named the Max Sparger Scholar-Athlete and Jason Ford (Sr. • Verona) was the Titans' representative on the Larry Zirgibel All-Sportsmanship Team.

The Titans will compete at three final qualifier meets in the next two weeks; the UW-La Crosse Eagle Open on May 10, the North Central College (Ill.) Cardinal Combined on May 13-14 and the Augustana College (Ill.) Midwest Twilight Qualifier on May 16. The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship will be held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, N.C. on May 23-25.
