WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlight: Londyn Little

WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlight: Londyn Little

MADISON, Wis.- Each week during the 2023-24 academic year, the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) will feature two student-athletes (one male and one female) from one of its eight institutions for a "Student-Athlete Spotlight" Q & A segment. The segments will be posted every Thursday and individuals are selected by the institution. The WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlights are presented by Culver's. UW-Oshkosh men's track & field athlete Londyn Little is featured in this week's WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlight.

Name:  Londyn Little
Institution:  UW-Oshkosh
Hometown (High School):  Columbia, Ill. (Columbia High School)
Year in school:  Junior
Sport:  Football and Men's Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field
Major:  Physical Education

Why did you choose UW-Oshkosh?
I chose UW-Oshkosh because the high school that I went to wasn't very diverse, so I wanted to use this opportunity to branch off and find something different and go somewhere that was affordable. UW-Oshkosh fit those criteria being a public university that offers competitive tuition rates. Coach Kinseth was a huge part of my decision as well!

What do you like most about competing in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and being a NCAA Division III student-athlete?
The biggest thing I like about that WIAC is that in every competition, you're competing against the top athletes in Division III. Being a part of the WIAC opens doors to networking opportunities, internships, and future career paths. As a student-athlete, I'm able to form connections with coaches, alumni, and professionals in their field of interest.

Who is someone that you look up to?
My mom. She provides unwavering support through life's ups and downs, is there to celebrate successes and comfort during failures and provides encouragement to pursue my dreams.

Do you have any words of advice for younger/upcoming student-athletes?
Set realistic goals. Set both short-term and long-term goals for yourself, both in athletics and academics. Make sure your goals are specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant and work diligently towards achieving them.

One word that describes you?
Athletic.

What is your dream job?
My dream job is to play in the NFL.

A non-athletic talent that you have is?
I think my non-athletic talent is being a motivator. During lactic days at practice, I don't let people quit when they're tired. We have high expectations on this team and as a captain, I can't let things like that happen.

Do you have any pre-game/pre-event superstitions or rituals? If so, what are they?
Listen to Snooze by SZA and Interstellar by NAV and Lil Uzi Vert before I race. Eat three strawberry apple sauces and one cinnamon, two packs of fruit snacks and drink a lemonade which (gives me +10 speed attributes).
