Titans Compete At Ashton May Invitational

LA CROSSE, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team competed at the UW-La Crosse Ashton May Invitational on Saturday (April 6), placing fourth of six teams with 81 points.

Brady Lewis (Fr. • Cedarburg) took sixth in the 5,000-meter run in 15:49.78 and Steven Potter (Sr. • Oak Creek) ran a 3:54.51 in the 1,500-meter run for seventh place, kicking off the meet in the long-distance events.

Solo Titans to place in other running events were Danny Vinson (Jr. • Berrien Springs, Mich.) in the 60-meter dash (sixth, 10.93), Lucas Nicholson (Fr. • Pewaukee) in the 800-meter dash (second, 1:55.74) and Weston Lerdal (Jr. • Neenah) in the 400-meter hurdles (sixth, 56.31).

Rashaad Henderson (Sr. • Racine) was Oshkosh's top finisher in the 200-meter dash with a second-place time of 21.72 seconds. Londyn Little (Jr. • Columbia, Ill.) took third in 21.76 seconds, Nolan Milas (Fr. • Virgil, Ill.) fifth in 22.10 seconds and Davian Willems (So. • De Pere) eighth in 22.26 seconds.

Three 4x400-meter relay squads from Oshkosh placed in the top six on Saturday. They took third, fourth and sixth in times of 3:25.04, 3:26.12 3:27.48 respectively.

Caleb Cornelius (Jr. • Racine) finished the high jump with a height of 2.05 meters and Joshua Rivers (Sr. • Chicago, Ill.) took fourth with a 1.97-meter jump.

Rivers then broke his own long jump program record from 2021 with a first-place distance of 7.47 meters that also leads NCAA Division III this season. The mark would also rank 15th in Division II and 52nd in Division I. Caleb Wright (So. • Oswego, Ill.) jumped 6.89 meters for fourth place.

In the triple jump, Ben Lissa (Fr. • East Moline, Ill.) skipped 13.15 meters for sixth place and Devin Derleth (Fr. • Berlin) took eighth with a 12.78-meter mark.

Gavin Fritsch (So. • Little Chute) finished the discus throw with a best cast of 49.09 that was good for second place.

Isaiah Isom (So. • Lansing, Ill.) then led Oshkosh in the shot put with a fourth-place throw of 16.26 meters. Kieran Maude (So. • Palatine, Ill.) threw 15.93 meters for fifth, Fritsch 14.51 meters for seventh and Jake Buss (Fr. • Poynette) 14.42 meters for eighth.

Cavan Dobberstein (Fr. • Manawa) threw the javelin 45.37 to place seventh, while Bryce Hale (Fr. • Kimberly) and Fritsch finished fifth and sixth in the hammer throw with casts of 52.16 and 49.69 meters respectively.

The Titans return to action on Friday and Saturday (April 12-13) for the UW-Platteville Invitational. Events are to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
