Titans Finish Second At Midwest ELITE Invitational

WHITEWATER, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field team finished second at the UW-Whitewater Midwest ELITE Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 10) with 87 points, taking home event wins in the 60-meter dash and long jump.

UW-La Crosse won the meet with 170 points and Loras College (Iowa) took third, accumulating 82 points.

Joey Kean (Sr. • Middleton) tied his career-best of 6.84 seconds in the final round of the 60-meter dash to win the event. Ray Talbert (Jr. • Waterloo, Iowa) took third in 6.91 seconds, Dylan Gramley (So. • Plainfield, Ill.) grabbed fourth in 6.93 seconds and Danny Vinson (Jr. • Berrien Springs, Mich.) finished in 6.97 seconds for sixth.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Aden Sears (Jr. • Eureka, Ill.) ran an 8.15-second for second place and Cavan Dobberstein (Fr. • Manawa) grabbed eighth in 8.50 seconds.

Two Titans finished the 200-meter dash in the top-eight. Michael DeLuca (So. • Kenosha) placed sixth in 22.46 seconds and Lucas Koerselman (Fr. • West Des Moines, Iowa) ran a 22.52 for eighth.

Reid Marquardt (Sr. • Peshtigo) and Jake Krause (Jr. • Hortonville) both placed in the distance events for Oshkosh, with Marquardt taking fourth in the 800-meter dash in 1:54.62 and Krause taking eighth in the mile run in 4:16.47.

Joshua Rivers (Sr. • Chicago, Ill.) won the long jump with a best distance of 7.49 meters, followed by Caleb Wright (So. • Oswego, Ill.) with a 7.21-meter jump. Wright's jump is the seventh-furthest in the nation this season. Charlie Nolan (So. • Normal, Ill.) and Londyn Little (Jr. • Columbia, Ill.) also took fourth and fifth with jumps of 7.09 and 7.08 meters, respectively.

The triple jump also saw top-eight Oshkosh finishers in JV Myles (Fr. • Germantown) at 14.26 meters and Wright at 13.79 meters.

Zach Zirgibel (Jr. • Merton) placed second in the pole vault with a best height of 4.88 meters.

Cameron Bendixen (So. • DeForest place fifth in the shot put, casting 15.62 meters.

The Titans will host their third and final meet of the season next Saturday (Feb. 17) at the Kolf Sports Center.
