Titans Compete At Lewis, Ripon Invites

ROMEOVILLE, Ill./RIPON- The UW-Oshkosh men's track & field teams competed at the Lewis University (Ill.) Invite and Ripon College Invite on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 2-3).

The Titans won the scored Ripon meet with 249.5 points in the 12-team field.

Londyn Little (Jr. • Columbia, Ill.) raced to first in the 200-meter dash at Lewis, finishing the event in 21.92 seconds. He was followed in second by Dylan Gramley (So. • Plainfield, Ill.) with a time of 21.97 seconds for the third-fastest finish in program history. The top-three was rounded out by Rashaad Henderson (Sr. • Racine), moving up to fourth in program history at 22.00 seconds. Nolan Milas (Fr. • Virgil, Ill.) grabbed sixth place.

Matthew Eiden (Fr. • Stevens Point) was the Titans' top finisher in the 400-meter dash with a fourth-place time of 49.86 seconds.

At Ripon, Danny Vinson (Jr. • Berrien Springs, Mich.) started the Titans off with an event win in the 60-meter dash, racing a 6.92-second time.

Cavan Dobberstein (Fr. • Manawa) took second in the 60-meter hurdles finals in 8.55 seconds and RJ Bosshart finished fifth in 9.14 seconds. Aden Sears (Sr. • Eureka, Ill.) did not run in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles, however he broke his own program record with an 8.13-second finish in the preliminary round.

In the 200-meter dash, Emmitt Krauter (Fr. • Sheboygan Falls) grabbed third in 23.36 seconds and Caiden Hoeppner (So. • Wausau) took fourth in 23.40 seconds.

Nick Vey (So. • Oshkosh) led Oshkosh with a 51.52-second time in the 400-meter dash for second place. Devin Williams (So. • Oshkosh) followed in third at 52.44 seconds and Jett Breed (Fr. • Oswego, Ill.) wrapped up the top-eight finishers in 52.52 seconds.

Reid Marquardt (Sr. • Peshtigo) won the 800-meter dash in 1:55.47 seconds, kicking off a series of top-three finishes for Oshkosh in distance events. Lucas Nicholson (Fr. • Pewaukee) took second in the mile run, running a 4:22.01. The Titans swept the top three spots of the 3,000-meter run with an 8:36.97 from Paul Proteau (So. • Riverside, Ill.), an 8:28.62 from Cameron Cullen (So. • Kewaunee) and an 8:40.49 from Jake Krause (Jr. • Hortonville).

Kendrick Cyracus (So. • Plainfield, Ill.) finished the high jump with a best height of 1.80 meters. Diego Villalobos (Sr. • Glen Ellyn, Ill.) also finished fourth in the long jump, finishing with a best distance of 6.94 meters. Dobberstein, Caleb Wright (So. • Oswego, Ill.), Kyle Wisniewski (Fr. • New London) and Elijah McCauley (So. • Belleville, Ill.) finished fifth through eighth.

Oshkosh took the pole vault crown on a 4.55-meter mark from Zach Zirgibel (Jr. • Merton). Ethan Stukenberg (Fr. • Edwardsville, Ill.) grabbed second at 4.40 meters and Matthew Ewens (So. • New Berlin) finished with a 4.40-meter vault for third.

Isaiah Isom (So. • Lansing, Ill.) earned the top position in the shot put with a cast of 15.57 meters, followed by Kieran Maude (So. • Palatine, Ill.) at 15.07 meters, Gavin Fritsch (So. • Little Chute) at 14.38 meters and Jake Buss (Fr. • Poynette) at 14.29 meters.

Three of the top-five places in the triple jump went to Titans with JV Myles (Fr. • Germantown) leading the way with a first-place, 13.91-meter jump. Wisniewski placed second with a 13.15-meter mark and McCauley jumped 12.69 meters for fifth place.

Steven Wauer (So. • Muskego) threw the 35-lb. weight 15.61 meters to secure a first-place finish for Oshkosh. Fritsch followed closely behind at 15.57 meters for second and Buss grabbed third at 15.53 meters. Bryce Hale (Fr. • Kimberly), Isom, Maude and Jacob Fritsch (So. • Little Chute) finished fourth, fifth, sixth and eighth.

The 4x400-meter relay squad of Breed, Vey, Nicholson and Marquardt won the event with a 3:28.71 finish.

The Titans return to action next Saturday (Feb. 10) for the UW-Whitewater Midwest Elite Invitational.
