Seven Student-Athletes, Titans Named USTFCCCA All-Academic

NEW ORLEANS- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced their 2023 All-Academic honorees on Thursday (July 13) with seven Titans on the list. The team also earned All-Academic honors.

Rashaad Henderson is a Racine Park High School graduate, majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He owns a cumulative grade point average of 3.52 as a junior. He qualified for the

A Middleton native, Joey Kean owns a 3.95 cumulative grade point average as a Supply Chain Management major. The junior qualified for the NCAA Outdoor 4x100-meter relay team that placed fourth at the meet with a time of 40.58 seconds. It was his first career All-America honor.

A Hortonville native, sophomore Jake Krause is a Interactive Web Management major with a 3.60 cumulative grade point average. He was named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District member this spring. Krause was an NCAA Outdoor Championship qualifier in the 3,000-meter steeplechase this season and holds the fourth-fastest time in school history.

Reid Marquardt is an Athletic Training graduate student with a 3.74 cumulative grade point average. The Peshtigo High School graduate, graduated from UW-Oshkosh with a Bachelor's in Rehabilitation Science and a certificate in Spanish in 2022 with a 3.61 cumulative grade point average. He also earned CSC Academic All-District honors. The three-time NCAA qualifier was a member of the distance medley relay squad that broke the school record at the NCAA Indoor Championships and the 4x400-meter relay squad that qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Kieran Maude is a freshman from Palatine, Ill., majoring in Special Education. He owns a cumulative grade point average of 3.62.

A West Bend West High School graduate, Eli Tranel is a Secondary Education and Social Sciences major. The senior owns a 3.89 cumulative grade point average and was included on the CSC Academic All-District Team. Tranel qualified for both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Championships in 2023 and placed third in the pole vault at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a best height of 16' 2.75".

Zach Zirgibel, a sophomore from Merton, is a Biomedical Science major and owns a cumulative grade point average of 3.98. He earned CSC Academic All-District after the season finished. The pole vaulter qualified for the indoor and outdoor national meets this year and sits sixth and seventh in the UW-Oshkosh indoor and outdoor pole vault, respectively.

542 male student-athletes were named All-Academic in total and 44 were from the rest of the WIAC. UW-La Crosse had 18, UW-Whitewater had eight, UW-Eau Claire had seven, UW-Stout had six, UW-Platteville had three and UW-Stevens Point had one.

UW-Oshkosh was among the 167 programs earned All-Academic distinction, including six other WIAC schools, with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.11.

The criteria to be named an All-Academic Team is a cumulative team grade point average of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility of at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester, computed by the USTFCCCA.
