Nineteen Titans Qualify for NCAA Outdoor Championships; 17 Named All-Region

INDIANAPOLIS/NEW ORLEANS- Ninteen members of the UW-Oshkosh men's and women's track and field teams were included in the final qualifying list for the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships.

The national meet will take place between May 25 and 27 at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, N.Y.

The top 22 individuals and top 16 relay teams earned their way to the national meet based on results throughout the 2023 outdoor season. The top eight finishers in each event at the championships will receive All-America status.

National Qualifiers

The men's team qualified in 10 events and the women qualifying in three events.

Leading UWO with three qualifications is sophomore Londyn Little with selections to the 200-meter dash, 4x100-meter relay and the 4x400-meter relay.

The other three members of the 4x100-meter relay are junior Joey Kean, graduate student Aaron Richardson and junior Rashaad Henderson. The remaining three runners on the 4x400-meter relay are freshman Aden Sears, sophomore Ryan Potter and junior Reid Marquardt.

Henderson was also selected for the 200-meter dash, joining Little and Sears will compete in the decathlon.

Freshman Charlie Nolan and junior RJ Bosshart will compete in the decathlon alongside Sears.

In remaining track qualifications, sophomore Cyna Madigan was selected for the 800-meter run, senior Steven Potter and sophomore Amelia Lehman were each selected for the 1,500-meter run, senior John Ford was selected for the 400-meter hurdles crown and sophomore Jake Krause was selected for the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Sophomore Caleb Cornelius, senior Eli Tranel, sophomore Zach Zirgibel, sophomore Megan Hunt, and senior Jonathan Wilburn were all selected for field events. Cornelius qualified in the high jump, Tranel and Zirgibel qualified in the pole vault, Hunt qualified in the long jump and Wilburn qualified in the triple jump.

USTFCCCA All-Region North

Seventeen Titans were named United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region North on Friday as well.

With their fourth All-Region honors, Richardson earned a spot in the 4x100-meter relay, Steven Potter earned a spot in the 800-meter run and Wilburn earned a spot in the triple jump.

Steven Potter also was named to the All-Region team for the 1,500-meter run for the second year.

Ryan Potter and Ford were named to the 4x400-meter relay and 400-meter hurdles, respectively, for the third time in their careers.

Little was named All-Region for three events; the 200-meter dash (second), 4x100-meter relay (first) and 4x400-meter relay (first).

Henderson also earned three spots on the team with his second 4x400-meter relay honor, first 4x100-meter relay honor and first 200-meter dash honor.

Sears made three appearances in his first year on the outdoor team; the 4x400-meter relay, 110-meter hurdles and decathlon.

Kean, Cornelius, Nolan and Tranel all earned the second nod of their careers in the 4x100-meter relay, high jump, decathlon, and pole vault, respectively.

Madigan, Lehman, Zirgibel, Hunt and Bosshart all earned their first All-Region honors on Friday.

Madigan was named in the 800-meter run, Lehman was named in the 1,500-meter run, Zirgibel was named in the pole vault, Hunt was named in the long jump and Bosshart was named in the decathlon.
