Titans Finish Day One of WIAC Championships With An Event Win

WHITEWATER, Wis.- At the end of the first day of competition at the WIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships (presented by Culver's), the UW-Oshkosh men's track and field team sits in fourth with 27 points and the women's team sits in seventh with seven points.

Track Event Results

In the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, sophomore Jake Krause ran a 9:14.65 for third place, which grabbed him an All-WIAC Honorable Mention nod.

Field Event Results

Senior Eli Tranel earned All-WIAC First Team in the men's pole vault with a best height of 16' 2.75" (4.95m). Sophomore Zach Zirgibel vaulted 14' 11" (4.55m) for All-WIAC Honorable Mention honors.

Multi Event Results

The women's heptathlon athletes competed in four of the seven events on Friday. Senior Mikayla Jackson and sophomore Megan Hunt sit in seventh and eighth with 2,570 and 2,531 points, respectively.

Freshman Charlie Nolan leads all athletes in the men's decathlon after Friday, with 3,727 points in five events and an event win in the high jump at 6' 6.25" (1.99m). Junior RJ Bosshart sits third with 3,608 points. He won the 100-meter dash in 10.68 seconds.
