WIAC Champion Titans Prepared to Defend Title
OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh Titans men's track & field team opens the season on the road at the Ripon College Winter Open on Dec. 3.
Head coach Justin Kinseth is returning as the head coach of the men's and women's track and field teams for his sixth season. He is joined by assistants Eamon McKenna (12th season), Al Tapplin (10th), Kyle Van Damme (fifth), Jared Benson (fourth), Brittany Sykes (second), Cheyenne Moore (fourth), Sylviann Momont (first) and Brittany Haas-Gibson (first).
The Titans bring back 39 athletes from last season and add 30 athletes. The Titans won the WIAC Indoor Track & Field title in Platteville last season, their fifth in program history. They accumulated 35 top-eight finishes and five event wins; Caleb Cornelius in the high jump, Ryan Potter in the 400-meter run, Steven Potter in the 800-meter run, Jonathan Wilburn in the triple jump and Davian Willems in 60-meter dash.
2021-22 Honors
USTFCCCA selected Jonathan Wilburn as Co-Field Performer of the meet in the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships, sharing the honor with Alex Kristeller of Widener University (Penn.). Wilburn won the triple jump with a school-record mark of 50-11.
Also receiving All-America honors, were Steven Potter in the 800-meter run, Jaylen Grant in the 60-meter dash, and Rashaad Henderson, Bo Koehn, Ryan Potter and Amitai Wheat in the 1,600-meter relay.
Kinseth was recognized as the NCAA Division III North Region Men's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year by the USTFCCCA.
The Titans dominated the USTFCCCA NCAA Division III All-North Region Men's Indoor Track & Field team; with Caleb Cornelius, Leslie Fisher, Andrew George, Adrian Girone, Jaylen Grant, Rashaad Henderson, Bo Koehn, Londyn Little, Robert Ogbuli, Elijah Pena, Ryan Potter, Steven Potter, Aaron McCarroll-Richardson, Denzel Thomas, Abdul-Karim Toheeb-Lawal, Eli Tranel, Jonathan Wilburn and Davian Willems all being selected.
The Titan coaching staff earned WIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year.
