Titans Compile 13 Place Winners At UW-Platteville Invitational

Jack Flynn finished first in the discus and Jackson Sheckler the shot put to pace UW-Oshkosh's 13 top-eight performances at the UW-Platteville Men's Track & Field Invitational held Saturday (April 10).

Flynn defeated 26 other contestants in the discus with his measurement of 153-4. UW-Platteville's Alexander Walcehka placed second in the event with a distance of 145-8 and UW-Oshkosh's Jack Malloy seventh at 127-6.

Sheckler beat 23 other participants in the shot put with his throw of 52-5 1/4, including UW-Oshkosh's Nick Tegtmeier who finished second with a mark of 49-5 1/2.

The Titans had two other second-place finishers in the meet as Aaron McCarroll-Richardson recorded a leap of 22-4 1/2 in the long jump and Andrew Rathkamp a time of 4:04.11 in the 1,500-meter run.

UW-Oshkosh also received a third-place height of 6-4 3/4 in the high jump from Joshua Rivers and fourth-place results of 15:44.27 in the 5,000-meter run from Jason Ford and 44-2 3/4 in the triple jump from Joshua Jones.

The Titans concluded their list of place winners with the fifth-place measurement of 21-8 1/4 in the long jump from Roman Hill, sixth-place time of 15:53.82 in the 5,000-meter run from Joe Kehoe, seventh-place time of 4:09.88 in the 1,500-meter run from Noah O'Neill and eighth-place distance of 156-9 in the hammer throw from Mason Resch.

Denzel Thomas finished seventh in the preliminaries of the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.18 seconds, but elected not to run in the finals.

Team scores were not tabulated for the meet, which involved participants from Augustana College (Ill.), Edgewood College, UW-La Crosse, and UW-Stevens Point in addition to UW-Oshkosh and UW-Platteville.

UW-Oshkosh will represented Friday and Saturday (April 16-17) at the UW-La Crosse Multi-Event Invitational.
