Titans Defeat Conference Rivals In Stevens Point

UW-Oshkosh had four event winners while taking first place at the UW-Stevens Point Men's Track & Field Quadrangular on Saturday (Feb. 9) in Stevens Point.

The Titans totaled 226 points to conquer second-place UW-Whitewater (186.5) and third-place UW-Stevens Point (130.5).

Kenny Halloran (So. • Mt. Prospect, Ill.) won the mile run in 4:15.13 – a time that ranks among the top-10 nationally this year. Lee Robinson (So. • Racine) then took the triple jump with his 44-9 and Jake Dickmann (Sr. • Kewaskum) captured the pole vault at 14-8.

UW-Oshkosh swept the podium in the weight throw. Pete Delzer (Sr. • Oconto Falls) prevailed at 63-5.5, while Lewis Prior (Sr. • Coleman) listed second at 57-9 and Joe Brunner (So. • Reedsville) third at 54-8.25.

Prior added a second-place score with his shot put of 53-7.75. Other runner-up performances came from Brian Beaudo (So. • Fort Atkinson) in the 400-meter run at 50.38, John Block (Jr. • Madison) in the mile run at 4:17.49, John Dewitt (Sr. • Oshkosh) in the 3,000-meter run at 8:37.47, Jonathan Jordan (Jr. • Milwaukee) in the long jump at 22-5 and Kyle Schueller (Fr. • Edgar) in the triple jump at 44-2.5.

Naji Allan (Fr. • Sheboygan) contributed third-place results in both the 60-meter (7.12) and 200-meter (23.01) dashes.

UW-Oshkosh also had some strong performances at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa. Nick Baatz (Sr. • Brownsville) placed fifth in both the shot put (57-7) and the weight throw (58-6.75). Donald Klitz (Sr. • Markesan) then triple-jumped 47-4.25 for sixth place.

The Titans return to Stevens Point for the Eastbay Invitational on Saturday (Feb. 16).
