Titans Travel To Iowa, Michigan For Relays

Nate Stymiest (Jr. • Oconto Falls) automatically qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship in the 5,000-meter run to highlight UW-Oshkosh’s performances at a pair of relay meets on April 28-30.

At the Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Mich., Stymiest ran to an eighth-place time of 14:23.73. Tecumseh Adams of NCAA Division I Central Michigan University won the event in a time of 14:13.81. The Titans also had an individual result from Tyler Morey (Jr. • Combined Locks), who took 11th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 9:09.84.

UW-Oshkosh sent two relay groups to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. The team of Ryan Sprenger (Fr. • Larsen), Brent Jude (Sr. • Milwaukee), Alex DeWitt (So. • Howard) and Quentin Badger (Fr. • Madison) clocked a 42.58 in the 400-meter event, failing to qualify for the finals.

The 1,600-meter relay squad consisting of Chris Lipke (Sr. • Wautoma), David Edwards (Sr. • Waterford), Corey Wilch (Fr. • Waukesha) and John Cejka (So. • Wausau) was disqualified after stepping on a line.
