Titans Conquer Raiders

Adam Kasper (Jr. • Franklin) swept his singles opponent and lost only one game in doubles action as the UW-Oshkosh men's tennis team defeated the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 8-1, on Friday (April 13) in Mequon.

Kasper won his No. 6 singles contest by a 6-0, 6-0 score over Matthew Slaughter. He then teamed with Aidan Sauberlich (Fr. • Green Bay) to post an 8-1 victory over Andrew Kosasih and Jeff Scarpelli at No. 2 doubles.

UW-Oshkosh (9-10) took the other two doubles matches by 8-2 results. Bobby Brooks (So. • Neenah) and Kevin Lewis (So. • Howard) defeated Eric Klamrowski and Juan Montenegro in the first flight, while Josh Hopfensperger (So. • Neenah) and Scott Niemi (Sr. • Appleton) ousted Slaughter and Zachary Dam in the second.

Other singles winners for the Titans were Brooks in the first flight, Lewis in the second, Sauberlich in the third and Niemi in the fourth. Brooks edged Montenegro, 6-2, 2-6 (10-6), while Lewis destroyed Nick Matsura and Sauberlich crushed Scarpelli by 6-1, 6-0 scores. Niemi recorded a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Kosasih.

The Milwaukee School of Engineering earned its lone team point on Dam's 7-6, 6-3 win over Jason Alexander (So. • Fond du Lac) at No. 5 singles.

UW-Oshkosh hosts UW-Whitewater on Friday (April 20) at the Kolf Sports Center Complex.
