Lieder Selected To Academic All-District Team

Senior Jarrett Lieder of UW-Oshkosh was one of 11 student-athletes named to the 2021 College Sports Information Directors of America NCAA Division III Academic All-District® 6 Men's At-Large Team.

Lieder, a four-year member of the Titans' swimming & diving team, graduated in May with a 3.94 cumulative grade-point average. The biology major will begin an internship with Marsh Family Eyecare in Oshkosh this fall.

Selected by CoSIDA members, the Academic All-District® 6 Team, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Men's sports in the at-large category include fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis, volleyball, water polo and wrestling.

The Academic All-District® 6 Team was comprised of student-athletes from schools in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early August.

Lieder, a first-time Academic All-District® selection, was chosen in March as the 2021 recipient of the WIAC Max Sparger Men's Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete Award. He was the first UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving athlete to receive the award, which has been presented annually by the WIAC since 1986.

Lieder is a three-time WIAC champion, winning the 1,650-yard freestyle at the 2019 and 2020 league championships and adding a 500-yard freestyle title in 2020. He also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle at the 2019 conference meet and the 1,650-yard freestyle in 2018.

A two-year team captain, Lieder was selected UW-Oshkosh's Most Valuable Swimmer in each of his four seasons. He owns school individual records in the 200-yard freestyle, 500-yard freestyle, 1,000-yard freestyle 1,650-yard freestyle and 400-yard individual medley. Lieder is also a member of school records in the 200-, 400- and 800-yard freestyle relays. He additionally holds the UW-Oshkosh Albee Hall record in the 1,000-yard freestyle.

Lieder, a 2017 Oshkosh North High School graduate, is a four-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll and been acknowledged on UW-Oshkosh's Dean's List all eight semesters of his attendance. He earned a 4.0 GPA during his last 54 credits earned.

Lieder has volunteered for Special Olympics, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, YMCA, National Alliance on Mental Illness while mentoring at a local elementary school. He also worked as head lifeguard and co-manager at the Omro Family Aquatic Center.

Lieder's father, Craig Lieder, was named to the 1995 CoSIDA NCAA Division III Academic All-America® Baseball Second Team.

Other WIAC student-athletes voted to the 2021 NCAA Division III Academic All-District® 6 Men's At-Large Team were UW-La Crosse's Konrad Ernst (Wrestling) and UW-Stout's Lucas Carroll (Ice Hockey).
