Lieder Named WIAC Swimming Athlete Of The Week

The WIAC selected UW-Oshkosh senior Jarrett Lieder as its Kwik Trip Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week for events held Feb. 1-7. It is Lieder's sixth WIAC weekly award, following three selections during the 2019-20 and two during the 2018-19 seasons.

Lieder won two events and swam on a first-place relay as UW-Oshkosh returned to the pool for the first time in nearly a year during its 2021 season-opening meet with UW-Stevens Point on Feb. 6 in Albee Hall.

Lieder paced UW-Oshkosh during its non-scoring contest with the Pointers by winning freestyle races at 500 and 1,000 yards with times of 4:52.74 and 10:07.82, respectively. The 2020 WIAC 500-yard freestyle champion also helped teammates Andrew Copeland, Brennan Hoem and Josiah Vandenberg register a first-place time of 3:20.44 in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

UW-Eau Claire's Quincy Kabe was named the WIAC Men's Diving Athlete of the Week.
