Titans Win Five Events In Loss To Warhawks

The UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team traveled to UW-Whitewater on Saturday (Nov. 9) and suffered a 175-95 loss to the Warhawks.

Jack Miller won three swimming and Matt Wilke and a pair of diving events for UW-Oshkosh.

Miller earned all of his victories in the freestyle category, posting times of 22.33 seconds at 50 yards, 1:48.18 at 200 and 4:56.97 at 500.

Wilke, who competed at last year's NCAA Division III Championship, recorded winning scores of 276.30 points off the 1-meter board and 285.23 off the 3-meter plank.

Contributing second-place results for the Titans were David Bain in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.45, Michael Gerondale in the 100-yard freestyle with a performance of 52.28 seconds and Jarrett Lieder in the 400-yard individual medley with a swim of 4:26.14.

UW-Oshkosh had four third-place listings as Bain went 2:17.34 in the 200-yard backstroke, Gerondale 24.24 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle, Alex Jernberg 2:16.47 in the 200-yard butterfly and Josiah Vandenberg 1:05.35 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

UW-Oshkosh placed second in the 400-yard freestyle and third in the 400-yard medley relays with times of 3:23.64 and 3:55.86, respectively. 

The Titans will be competing at the Lawrence University Gene Davis Invitational next Saturday (Nov. 16) in Appleton.
