Casper, Bricco Lead Titans At Wisconsin College Showcase

Results

Jacob Casper swam to a pair of top 21 finishes as the UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team opened the 2016-17 season at the Wisconsin College Showcase held Saturday (Oct. 22) in Brown Deer.

The non-scoring event featured contestants from nine Wisconsin collegiate programs, including NCAA Division I members UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee and UW-Oshkosh's conference rivals UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater.

Casper placed in a pair of breaststroke events, finishing 18th at 200 yards with a time of 2:33.77 and 21st at 100 yards in 1:07.59.

Mitchell Bricco led all UW-Oshkosh participants with his 16th-place time of 2:11.02 in the 200-yard butterfly while Ross Armitage ranked 19th and Grady Hilgendorf 20th in the 500-yard freestyle with times of 5:33.61 and 5:33.90, respectively.

The Titans also had Dylan Sobolewski and Bryan Solomon place 20th with times of 2:37.75 in the 200-yard breaststroke and 2:15.30 in the 200-yard butterfly, respectively.

UW-Oshkosh's Alec Marquardt added a 23rd-place swim of 5:49.36 in the 500-yard freestyle.

UW-Oshkosh hosts Carroll University on Saturday (Oct. 29) in Albee Hall.
