Men's Swimming & Diving Team Opens Season In Brown Deer

The UW-Oshkosh men's swimming & diving team opens its first season under head coach Chris Culp on Saturday (Oct. 24) at the Wisconsin College Showcase in Brown Deer.

Among the schools joining UW-Oshkosh in the non-scoring event are Beloit College, Carroll University, Carthage College, Lawrence University, UW-La Crosse and NCAA Division I programs UW-Green Bay and UW-Milwaukee.

Following its season-opener, UW-Oshkosh travels to Carroll University on Oct. 31 and UW-Whitewater on Nov. 14 for dual meets.

UW-Oshkosh hosts the first of its two home meets for the 2016-16 season on Nov. 21 against UW-Eau Claire. The Titans also welcome UW-La Crosse to Albee Hall on Jan. 23.

UW-Oshkosh journeys to the Rochester Invitational in Rochester, Minn., on Dec. 5-6, and to Lawrence University on Dec. 11 and Ripon College on Feb. 6 for dual meets.

The Titans conclude their regular season at the WIAC Championship on Feb. 18-20 in Brown Deer.

UW-Oshkosh welcomes back eight letter winners from last year's squad, including Zach Hogan who finished 13th in the 200-yard backstroke and 15th in the 100-yard backstroke at the WIAC Championship.

The Titans also return Jacob Casper, Grady Hilgendorf, Alec Marquardt and Myles Taylor.

Hilgendorf finished 12th in the 1,650-yard freestyle and 15th in the 500-yard freestyle at last year's WIAC Championship, while Marquardt placed 16th in both the 100- and 200-yard backstrokes. Taylor ranked 11th in the 500-yard freestyle and Casper 13th in the 100-yard breaststroke.

UW-Oshkosh placed fifth at last year's WIAC Championship with 172 points.
