Eagles Unstoppable Against Titans

UW-La Crosse took first place in every event during its 158-77 men's swimming & diving win over UW-Oshkosh on Saturday (Jan. 12) in Albee Hall.

The top finishes for the Titans came in the relays. In the 200-yard medley relay, UW-Oshkosh posted a time of 1:48.25 for second place. The 400-yard freestyle relay group also earned second with its 3:28.52.

Bryan Stoffel (So. • Wittenberg) highlighted the individual performances with second-place times in both the 100-yard (53.55) and 200-yard freestyle (1:58.43).

Three other second-place results came in the freestyle races with Eddie Dominguez (Sr. • Milwaukee) completing 50 yards in 23.11, Sam Green (Fr. • Germantown) 500 yards in 5:22.17 and Quin Lenz (Jr. • Oshkosh) 1,000 yards in 11:11.25.

Patrick Keleny (Fr. • Madison) added a second-place 57.31 in the 100-yard butterfly, as did Brian Markovich (Sr. • Colgate) with his 2:15.15 in the 200-yard individual medley.

Val Mikitchik (Fr. • Menasha) counted a pair of third-place scores. He clocked a 1:58.55 in the 200-yard freestyle and a 5:27.30 in the 500-yard freestyle. Other third-place finishes came from Andrew Bores (Fr. • Oshkosh) in the 100-yard freestyle at 53.89, Samuel Esselman (Fr. • Oshkosh) in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 11:45.43 and Bobby Theer (So. • Green Oaks) in the 50-yard freestyle at 23.76.

Capturing fourth place, Bores posted a 2:22.75 in the 200-yard individual medley and Keleny totaled a 5:32.44 in the 500-yard freestyle.

UW-Oshkosh has a dual meet at Beloit College on Saturday (Jan. 19).
