Titans Glide Past Pioneers

Zach Hogan (Fr. • Milwaukee) won the 100-yard freestyle and swam on a victorious relay as UW-Oshkosh defeated Carroll University, 113-91, on Saturday (Oct. 27) in Waukesha.

Hogan clocked a time of 51.87 to take the 100-yard freestyle. He then joined Eddie Dominguez (Sr. • Milwaukee), Sam Green (Fr. • Germantown) and Bobby Theer (So. • Green Oaks) to take first in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:35.95.

UW-Oshkosh finished 1-2-3 in the 100-yard breaststroke, with Evan DuVall (So. • Sussex) winning in 1:08.02. Josh Dean (So. • Fond du Lac) followed in second at 1:12.77 and Nick Krueger (So. • Hartford) placed third at 1:13.89.

The other Titan with an individual triumph was Val Mikitchik (Fr. • Menasha). He prevailed in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 12:04.03, while also earning second place in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:46.26.

Brian Markovich (Sr. • Colgate) counted a pair of second-place results. He used 23.86 for the 50-yard freestyle and 1:00.89 for the 100-yard butterfly. Markovich joined DuVall, Patrick Keleny (Fr. • Madison) and Bryan Stoffel (So. • Wittenberg) to take second in the 200-yard medley relay with their 1:49.08.

In the 200-yard individual medley, Hogan listed second at 2:17.73. Other second-place performances came from Dominguez in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:56.32, Keleny in the 100-yard freestyle at 55.57 and Elliott Bartheld (So. • Onalaska) in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:02.54.
