Titans Submerge Vikings

UW-Oshkosh received multiple wins from Dalton Anderson (Fr. • Elkhorn), Phil Devine (So. • Winnebago, Ill.) and Kent Ludeman (Sr. • Cedarburg) in a 116-94 men’s swimming and diving victory against Lawrence University on Wednesday (Jan. 27) in Appleton.

Anderson got the first-place showings underway with his times of 22.42 in the 50-yard freestyle and 4:58.19 in the 500-yard freestyle. In the diving events, Devine triumphed with totals of 350.30 at three meters and 315.05 at one meter. Ludeman earned two wins with his marks of 1:00.00 in the 100-yard butterfly and 1:08.94 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

The Titans had two other individual champions in Brian Markovich (So. • Colgate) and Jordan Trentadue (Fr. • Racine). Markovich captured the 200-yard individual medley with a clocking of 2:09.19, while Trentadue finished in 11:26.75 to win the 1,000-yard freestyle.

Trentadue posted a 1:08.42 in the 100-yard backstroke to earn second place, as did the 200-yard medley relay team with a 1:48.82. Tim Kuckuk (Fr. • Plymouth) grabbed second place in both diving bouts, marking a 266.05 at three meters and 236.60 at one meter. Other finishes of second went to Matt Engelhardt (Fr. • DeForest) in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:59.79 and the 200-yard freestyle relay squad at 1:37.27.

Third-place results for UW-Oshkosh belonged to Engelhardt and Jon Streich (So. • Hubertus). Engelhardt touched the wall after 1:13.75 in the 100-yard breaststroke, in addition to Streich’s tally of 54.07 in the 100-yard freestyle.
