Two Titans Among NCAA Men's Soccer Statistical Leaders

UW-Oshkosh juniors Sam Gabrilska and Jacob Hernandez were listed among the NCAA Division III men's soccer statistical leaders for the 2015 season.

Gabrilska guarded UW-Oshkosh's net for all but 265 minutes this season and ranked ninth in the nation with a .497 goals-against average and 12th with a .871 save percentage.

Hernandez, a midfielder, ranked 50th in the country with 0.47 assists per game and 60th with eight assists.

As a team, UW-Oshkosh ranked 20th in goals-against average (.640), 21st in shutout percentage (.560), 38th in save percentage (.836) and 54th in assists per game (1.83).

Gabrilska, who started 15 of the 16 matches in which he appeared, compiled a 10-3-3 record with 54 saves and six shutouts. He allowed just eight goals in nearly 1,429 minutes played.

Gabrilska recorded a career-high nine saves against eventual national runner-up Loras College (Iowa) in the season opener on Sept. 1. He also had eight saves during a 2-0 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sept. 16.

Gabrilska did not allow a goal during a span of 694 consecutive minutes as UW-Oshkosh recorded seven consecutive shutouts from Sept. 4-22.

In his first three collegiate seasons, Gabrilska has amassed a 32-7-8 record in 48 matches, including 44 starts. In just over 4,230 minutes in goal, he has notched 18 shutouts and ceded just 26 goals while making 134 saves. Gabrilska owns a .838 career save percentage and a 0.55 goals-allowed average.

Hernandez led the Titans with 12 points and finished second on the squad with 39 shots and fourth with two goals.

Hernandez recorded two assists in three matches this season, including UW-Oshkosh's 3-0 win over St. Norbert College on Sept. 30. Among his goals was the game winner during the Titans' 6-0 victory over Central College (Iowa) on Sept. 20.

Hernandez has played in 59 (58 starts) of UW-Oshkosh's 60 contests over the past three seasons. He has registered 29 career points on 15 assists and seven goals, including three game winners.

UW-Oshkosh produced an 11-4-3 record in 2015 for its 31st consecutive winning season. The Titans received an at-large berth into the NCAA Division III Championship and lost a 2-0 decision to St. Olaf College (Minn.) in the opening round. It was UW-Oshkosh's 14th NCAA postseason appearance.
