Titans Knock Out Red Hawks On Penalty Kick

Tim Stadler (Jr. • Wauwatosa) converted a penalty kick with 118 seconds left in regulation to give the UW-Oshkosh men's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Ripon College on Tuesday (Oct. 19) at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Stadler's match-winning score followed a foul to UW-Oshkosh's Devon Prideaux (Sr. • Eden Prairie, Minn.) in the penalty box area. The goal was Stadler's team-leading eighth of the season.

UW-Oshkosh (15-0-2) attempted 19 shots, including nine that were saved by Ripon College goalkeeper Daniel Mikesell. The Titans were led by the five shots of Stadler, four of Robby Giljohann (Jr. • Pewaukee) and two each of Prideaux, Brandon Briones (Sr. • Menasha) and Ryan Redmond (Fr. • Lake Elmo, Minn.).

Ripon College (10-5-1) had two of its seven shots saved by UW-Oshkosh goalkeeper Tim Gindville (Sr. • New Lenox, Ill.). The Red Hawks were led by the three shots of Addison Ransom and two of Kevin Cederholm.

UW-Oshkosh had four corner kick opportunities in the contest and Ripon College two.

UW-Oshkosh, which entered the match ranked 12th in the NCAA Division III by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, has now held 14 of its opponents this season scoreless. The shutout was Gindville's first of the year.

UW-Oshkosh's 13th straight victory over Ripon College improved the Titans' advantage in the all-time series to 25-0-2.

UW-Oshkosh hosts Carleton College (Minn.) on Sunday (Oct. 24) in its final home match of the regular season.
