Borchert Earns D3hoops.com All-America Second Team Honor

BLOOMINGTON, Minn.- Senior forward Levi Borchert was named to the D3hoops.com All-America Second Team on Saturday afternoon. He was previously named to the D3hoops All-Region 9 First Team on Tuesday.

Borchert has been on D3hoop's All-America list for the last three seasons. He was on their Third Team in 2021 and their Second Team in 2022.

Tyson Cruickshank from Wheaton College (Ill.), Raheem Anthony from St. Mary's University of Minnesota, Christian Parker from the University of Mount Union (Ohio), Miles Mallory from Randolph-Macon College (Va.) and the Player of the Year, Alex Sobel from Middlebury College (Vt.) made up the First Team.

Joining Borchert on the Second Team were Josiah Johnson from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas), Mitch Prendergast from Case Western Reserve University (Ohio), Jeff Hunter from Keene State College (N.H.) and Jarred Houston from Emerson College (Mass.).

Making up the Third Team was Spencer Freedman from New York University, Josh Angle from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Calif.), Octavio Brito from Keene State, Jackson Meshanic from Hobart College (N.Y.) and Brendan Mora from Pomona-Pitzer (Calif.).

The fourth team included Vinny DeAngelo from Swarthmore College (Pa.), Jahn Hines from Christopher Newport University (Va.), Austin Grunder from SUNY Cortland (N.Y.), Jeremy Beckler from Carleton College (Minn.) and Dan Cook from St. John Fisher University (N.Y.).

Making up the Fifth Team were Matt Helwig from North Central College (Ill.), Jack Clement from Ohio Wesleyan University, Ja'Zere Noel from Rowan University (N.J.), Greg Rowson from the University of Mary Washington (Va.) and Trey Barber from Christopher Newport.

Jalen Overway from Calvin College (Mich.) was named the Rookie of the Year and Sean Smith from North Park University (Ill.) was named the Coach of the Year.

Borchert, the third back-to-back WIAC Player of the Year winner in program history (Dworak, 1977-78 and Ralph Sims, 1977-78), earned his third All-WIAC First Team nod. He started all 31 of Oshkosh's contests, leading the WIAC with 11.0 rebounds per game and the Titans with 15.2 points per game, while shooting 54.7 percent from the field. He became the 37th member of the Titans' 1,000-point club on December 20 at St. Norbert College (Wis.). He currently sits at 15th with 1,322 points and third with 878 rebounds.

UW-Oshkosh finished the season with a 24-7 record and won the regular season title for the second consecutive year for the second time (1967-68). After receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, they reached their fourth Elite Eight (2003, 2018, 2019).
