Borchert and Plamann Named to D3hoops Teams; Borchert Named to NABC First Team and Earns Player of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo./BLOOMINGTON, Minn.- Senior forward Levi Borchert and senior guard Hunter Plamann earned regional awards from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) and D3hoops.com on Tuesday.

For the second year in a row, Borchert was named to the NABC All-District 9 First Team, also earning District 9 Player of the Year. He is the first Titan to be named the District 9 Player of the Year in back-to-back years. Previous Oshkosh District 9 Players of the Year include Adam Fravert (2020), Ben Boots (2019), Tim Dworak (2002) and Dennis Ruedlinger (1996).

Rounding out the six-member All-District 9 First Team were Raheem Anthony from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, Jeremy Beckler from Carleton College (Minn.), Kyle Kaemingk from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul (Minn.), Jordan Magnani from Cornell College (Iowa) and Joshua Van Gorp from Central College (Iowa).

Ethan Anderson of UW-La Crosse, Trevon Chislom of UW-Whitewater, Peter Lash of Nebraska Wesleyan University, Logan Pearson of UW-Platteville, and Brock Voigt of UW-Eau Claire made up the All-District 9 Second Team.

All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across Division III.

Borchert was also named to the D3hoops All-Region 9 First Team for the third straight year, the first three-time member in program history. Anthony, Magnani, Anderson and Beckler filled out the rest of the First Team. The Second Team included Caleb Williams from Malacaster College (Minn.), Bradley Cimperman from Hamline University (Minn.), Pearson, Kaemingk and Van Corp. Plamann earned Third Team honors for the second year in a row, joined by Miles Barnstable from UW-Whitewater, Ryan Thissen from St. John's University (Minn.), Lash and Voigt. Anthony was named the Region 9 Player of the Year, Steve Schweer of Illinois College was named the Region 9 Coach of the Year and Barnstable was named the Region 9 Rookie of the Year.

Borchert, the third back-to-back WIAC Player of the Year winner in program history (Dworak, 1977-78 and Ralph Sims, 1977-78), earned his third All-WIAC First Team nod. He started all 31 of Oshkosh's contests, leading the WIAC with 11.0 rebounds per game and the Titans with 15.2 points per game, while shooting 54.7 percent from the field. He became the 37th member of the Titans' 1,000-point club on December 20 at St. Norbert College (Wis.). He currently sits at 15th with 1,322 points and third with 878 rebounds.

Plamann, a three-time member of the All-WIAC First Team, started 30 of Oshkosh's games and played in all 31. He ranked in the top-four in the WIAC in both three-point shooting percentage (40.9 percent) and assists (83). The 2021 transfer from the University of Minnesota Duluth reached 1,000 career points on February 1 against UW-Eau Claire at home, ended the season with 1,147 career points and 325 assists.

UW-Oshkosh finished the season with a 24-7 record and won the regular season title for the second consecutive year for the second time (1967-68). After receiving an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, they reached their fourth Elite Eight (2003, 2018, 2019).
