Titans Set to Take on Nationally Ranked Eagles

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh men's basketball team is headed to UW-La Crosse to take on the No. 15 nationally ranked Eagles on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 5 p.m. Both teams have a 4-1 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) record, good for a first-place tie atop the conference standings. 

Previewing the Titans

The Titans are sitting at 11-5 (4-1 WIAC). Their road record is currently 3-3. Oshkosh only allows 59.0 points per game, holding opponents to a 41.8 shooting percentage from the field and a 32.2 shooting percentage from three, all the best marks in the league. Senior forward Levi Borchert has recorded 175 total rebounds this season, averaging 10.9 rebounds per game. He leads the league in both individual rebounding categories as well. Sophomore forward Jonah Rindfleisch sits at fourth in the conference with 13 blocked shots this season. Senior guard Eric Peterson is second in steals with 27, averaging 1.7 a game. 

Previewing the Eagles

The Eagles currently hold a 13-3 (4-1 WIAC) record, winning three of their six home games this season. La Crosse's only conference loss was to UW-Platteville, losing to the Pioneers 64-41 on Jan. 4. They lead the league with a 74.7 percent free throw percentage. Senior forward Austin Westra has a league-high 61.5 (91-of-148), shooting percentage from the field, also sitting top-five in free throw percentage, shooting 74.3 percent (52-of-70). He has recorded 26 steals, good for third in the league. Senior guard Ethan Anderson is second with an 83.6 (46-of-55) shooting percentage from the line. Senior guard Henry Noone is fourth in the league with a 44.4 (24-of-54) shooting percentage from three. Anderson and Westra sit at second and fifth in the league in assists, averaging 3.1 and 2.8 per game, respectively.
