Former Titan Named Associate Athletics Director At UIC

Former UW-Oshkosh men's basketball player Sean Dwyer was recently named Associate Athletics Director, Marketing & Sales at the University of Illinois Chicago.

In his role with the Flames, Dwyer will create and execute marketing and sales plans to maximize attendance, generate ticket sales and drive student engagement. Additionally, he is responsible for coordinating all marketing communications and developing game and event presentation strategy.

"I'm excited to join the Flames Family during such a pivotal point in the journey of both the university and the athletics department," said Dwyer. "I am excited to join the team and help UIC reach new heights both on and off the athletic field."

Dwyer joined the Flames after serving as an account executive with the Chicago White Sox since 2017. He developed and executed multiple ballpark-wide theme nights for the Southsiders from ticket sales, activation set-up, on-field activities and promotional giveaway items. He generated and achieved significant revenue through the use of outbound calls, e-mails and other touch points.

Prior to his position with the White Sox, Dwyer served as a special projects coordinator in the Athletics Department at Benedictine University, working in numerous areas of the operation including corporate partnerships, compliance and event operations.

Dwyer graduated magna cum laude from UW-Oshkosh with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and an emphasis on business analytics. He was a student in the University Honors program and the Business Scholars program. Dwyer was a four-year member of the UW-Oshkosh men's basketball team and the recipient of the 2017 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Max Sparger Men's Basketball Scholar Athlete Award, an honor that is bestowed upon the top senior individual in each sport with a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. The Palos Park, Ill., native played on two NCAA Division III tournament teams (2016 & 2017) at UW-Oshkosh.

While working with the White Sox, Dwyer earned a Master of Arts in Sports Administration from Northwestern University in 2019, graduating magna cum laude.
