UW-Oshkosh To Implement Security Measures At NCAA Basketball Regional
The UW-Oshkosh Police Department will implement security measures, including a bag search, at this weekend's NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Regional in Kolf Sports Center.
"We want to make sure fans are safe and comfortable at the games, and ensuring their safety is our top priority," UW-Oshkosh Director of Athletics Darryl Sims said. "This admission procedure is designed to give fans a great experience and a high level of confidence in knowing that our facility is safe and secure."
Fans are encouraged to arrive early to ensure smooth entry as the only door open for entrance to Kolf Sports Center is Door 15 on the west side (Pearl Street) of the building. Fans will be admitted into Kolf Sports Center beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Games will be played Friday at 4:45 p.m. between Case Western Reserve University (Ohio) and University of Dubuque (Iowa) and at 7:15 p.m. between Blackburn College (Ill.) and UW-Oshkosh.
Friday's winners will meet at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in Kolf Sports Center for the right to play in the third round of the 64-team tournament on March 11.
Fans will not be permitted to bring the following items into Kolf Sports Center:
• Outside Food or Beverages
• Illegal Drugs or Other Substances
• Thermoses
• Cups & Mugs

Fans should keep the following in mind before they arrive at the Kolf Sports Center entrance to expedite the process:
• Minimize the number of personal items brought to the game.
• All bags, to include but not limited to handbags, briefcases, camera bags, diaper bags, clutches, and purses, are subject to search prior to entering the facility.
• Permitted bags should be soft-sided, not larger than 14" x 6" x 14."
