Borchert Named WIAC Basketball Athlete Of The Week

UW-Oshkosh junior forward Levi Borchert was selected as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Kwik Trip Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for games played Jan. 17-23.

Borchert averaged 27.5 points and 12 rebounds as nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh registered wins over UW-Platteville and UW-River Falls.

Borchert compiled 55 points by shooting 60 percent (21-35) from the field and 61.9 percent (13-21) from the free throw line. He also totaled 24 rebounds (9 offensive), two assists and one steal.

During UW-Oshkosh's 83-67 road win over nationally ranked UW-Platteville on Jan. 19, Borchert scored 23 points with nine rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes of playing time. He made 7 of 15 shots from the field and 9 of 14 free throws against the previously unbeaten Pioneers.

In the Titans' 89-84 home win over UW-River Falls on Jan. 22, Borchert scored a career-high 32 points with 15 rebounds and one steal in 38 minutes of action. He converted 14 of 20 shots from the field and 4 of 7 free throws against the Falcons. The double-double was Borchert's WIAC-leading ninth of the season.
