Borchert Selected To D3hoops.com All-America Third Team

UW-Oshkosh sophomore forward Levi Borchert was selected to the D3hoops.com All-America Third Team to rank among the top 15 NCAA Division III men's basketball players during the 2021 season.

Borchert, a 2021 D3hoops.com All-Central Region First Team selection and 2020 regional Rookie of the Year, is the sixth Titan to garner D3hoops.com All-America honors, joining Ben Boots (2019 First Team), Tim Dworak (2002 First Team, 2003 Second Team), Adam Fravert (2020 First Team), D.J. March (2009 Second Team) and Dennis Ruedinger (1996 First Team) since the organization began its postseason awards program in 1998.

Borchert collected four double-doubles this season to help the Titans to a 5-2 record and finish 12th in the D3hoops.com poll. Borchert averaged 14.4 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 66.7 percent from the floor during the abbreviated 2021 campaign. He ranked seventh in the country in field goal percentage while listing second in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in rebounding and eighth in the conference in assists.

Borchert had a run of three straight double-doubles, producing 11 points and 14 rebounds in a 77-68 win over UW-Platteville on Feb. 5, 17 points and 12 boards during a 78-59 victory at UW-Whitewater on Feb. 12, and 16 points and a career-high 18 rebounds in an 86-66 rout at UW-Stevens Point on Feb. 17.

Borchert ended the season with his fourth double-double, a 16-point and 10-rebound effort, during a 75-72 setback at UW-La Crosse in the WIAC Championship semifinals. He also had a career-high 21 points, eight rebounds and five assists in UW-Oshkosh's 98-89 win over UW-Stout during the first round of the conference tournament.

Completing the D3hoops.com All-America Third Team were Wyatt Cook from UW-La Crosse, Travis Jocelyn from The College of New Jersey, Riley Miller from University of St. Thomas (Minn.) and Dempsey Roggenbuck from Linfield College (Ore.).

The D3hoops.com First Team featured Buzz Anthony and Mike Mallory from Randolph-Macon College (Va.), Nick Bowman from Trine University (Ind.), Josiah Johnson from University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas), and Ryan Turell from Yeshiva University (N.Y.).

UW-Oshkosh, the 2019 national champion and 2018 runner-up, had made five consecutive trips to the Division III Championship until the 2021 tournament was canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
