Titans Land 19th in D3 Football Preseason Rankings

Entering the 2022 season, the UW-Oshkosh Titans football program lands at No. 19 in the preseason rankings from D3football.com on July 26.

The Titans, who finished the 2021 season with a 6-3 overall record and 4-3 record in conference action. The Titans were a force on the road, recording a 4-1 record away from J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

Twelve members of the Titans football squad earned All-WIAC honors in 2021 and four received honors from D3football.com All-Region. Sixty-one members of the football program earned letters in 2021, with 47 members set to return for the Titans.

Free safety Carson Raddatz led the team with 90 stops and one interception in 2021 as Tory Jandrin (Linebacker) and Kyle Scharenbroch (Strong Safety) added 65 and 60 stops respectively.

Leading the offensive charge, Kobe Berghammer sat in the quarterback position and completed 132 of 224 passes for 1,860 yards and 21 touchdowns. Berghammer carried the ball 68 times (467 yards) and grabbed five touchdowns on the ground.

Tony Steger was the top receiving target for Berghanmmer, grabbing 28 receptions for 619 yards. Steger led the conference in average yard per catch (22.1) and scored at least one touchdown in each of the final four contests for the Titans.

Defensive end Brandon Kolgen led the WIAC with 6.5 sacks and ranked third in the league with 11.5 tackles for loss. Kolgen recorded 30 stops for the Titan defensive, with 16 solo tackles. Peter MacCudden carried the ball 67 times for 407 yards and two touchdowns. MacCudden added eight receptions for 67 yards and two scores.

The Titans are joined by fellow Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) schools UW-Whitewater (No. 4), UW-La Crosse (No. 12), UW-River Falls (No. 18), and UW-Stout (RV).

Action begins on September 3 at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium for the Titans as East Texas Baptist University visits for a 1 p.m. game.
