Anderson Named Assistant Football Coach

UW-Oshkosh head football coach Peter Jennings announced Thursday (June 16) the addition of Treylon Anderson to his coaching staff.

Anderson, who will tutor UW-Oshkosh's wide receivers, coached the running backs at the University of Minnesota Duluth last fall when the Bulldogs compiled a 9-3 record, won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference title, and played in the first round of the NCAA Division II Championship.

Anderson also helped coach the special teams at the University of Minnesota Duluth while managing the scout team defense, providing academic support and recruiting southwestern Minnesota.

"I had the privilege of working with Trey in the past," Jennings said. "He is extremely motivated, hardworking, and caring. Having the opportunity to bring him to Oshkosh will make us better this summer, this fall and beyond. His experiences coaching at the University of Minnesota Duluth and UW-Whitewater have prepped him to be a fantastic coach for our program."

Prior to the University of Minnesota Duluth, Anderson coached the running backs at UW-Whitewater in 2020 and coordinated the passing game while serving an internship at McKinley High School in Baton Rouge, La., in 2019. Anderson created workout drills and met with student-athletes on their academic progress during UW-Whitewater's 2020 season that was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Anderson started his collegiate football career at Earlham College (Ind.). He played 16 games at quarterback for the Quakers during the 2015 and 2016 seasons and totaled 1,386 passing yards with seven touchdowns.

Anderson then transferred to Carroll University (Wis.) to play quarterback for the Pioneers during the 2018 and 2019 seasons. Injuries limited his action on the field to just nine games and a total of 229 passing yards with three touchdowns.

Anderson received his bachelor's degree in sports administration from Carroll University in 2020 and master's degree in education from UW-Whitewater in 2021. The Baker, La., native is a graduate of Baker High School.

UW-Oshkosh opens its 127th football season and the first under Jennings on Sept. 3 at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium against East Texas Baptist University.
