Kasuboski, Myrick Receive Academic All-District Honors

UW-Oshkosh seniors Justin Kasuboski and Jason Myrick were among 25 student-athletes voted to the 2021 College Sports Information Directors of America National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Academic All-District® 6 Football Team.

The Academic All-District® 6 Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The squad, selected by CoSIDA members, was comprised of student-athletes from schools in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in December.

Kasuboski, a tight end, and Myrick, an offensive guard, were first-time Academic All-District® selections.

Kasuboski, who owns a 3.55 cumulative grade-point average as a physical education major, earned All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Second Team honors this fall after catching 25 passes for 259 yards and four touchdowns to establish career highs in all three statistical categories. Kasuboski scored a pair of touchdowns against NCAA Division II member Northern Michigan University on Sept. 11 before recording a season high four catches and a score against both UW-Whitewater on Oct. 16 and UW-Stout on Oct. 30.

The Omro High School graduate collected All-WIAC First Team accolades in 2019 after catching 21 passes for 248 yards and one touchdown.

Kasuboski played in 42 games during his UW-Oshkosh career, including 21 as a starter. He totaled 47 pass receptions for 510 yards and six touchdowns while helping the Titans to a 32-11 record and both a WIAC championship and Division III postseason appearance in 2017 and 2019.

Kasuboski is a four-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll member.

Myrick, who holds a 3.83 cumulative GPA as a kinesiology major, started all nine games for the Titans this season. He helped anchor a UW-Oshkosh offensive line that yielded just 21 tackles for loss and nine sacks while helping lead the way for the Titans to average 5.6 yards per carry and score 19 rushing touchdowns.

Behind Myrick and the rest of the offensive line, UW-Oshkosh racked up at least 183 rushing yards on six occasions on the year, gaining a season-best 381 yards on the ground against UW-Stout and scoring a season-high five rushing touchdowns against UW-Stevens Point on Nov. 6.

Myrick started four of the eight games he appeared in for a 2019 UW-Oshkosh football team that compiled an 8-3 record, shared the WIAC title and played in the first round of the NCAA postseason. Myrick played in 17 games during his UW-Oshkosh career, including 13 as a starter.

The West Bend East High School graduate was one of the 176 semifinalists for the National Football Foundation's 2021 William V. Campbell Trophy, college football's premier scholar-athlete award. The five-time UW-Oshkosh Dean's List and four-time WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll member has achieved a perfect 4.00 GPA over his last 73 credits earned.

Myrick was both an indoor and outdoor track & field letterwinner for UW-Oshkosh during the 2019 and 2021 seasons. He placed 13th in the hammer throw at the WIAC Outdoor Championship in 2019 and 19th in 2021. Myrick finished 17th in the 35-pound weight throw at the 2019 WIAC Indoor Championship.

UW-Oshkosh had its 2020 outdoor track & field, 2020 football and 2021 indoor track & field seasons canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Other WIAC student-athletes voted to the 2021 CoSIDA NCAA Division III Academic All-District® 6 Football Team were Kyle Gannon (offensive lineman) and Ryan Wisniewski (wide receiver) from UW-Whitewater and Alex Bongers (offensive lineman) from UW-La Crosse.

UW-Oshkosh compiled a 6-3 record this fall while placing fourth in the WIAC with a 4-3 mark.
