UW-Oshkosh To Host High School All-Star Football Games

The state's top senior players from the 2020-21 high school football season showcase their talents when UW-Oshkosh hosts the 44th edition of the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star Classic this weekend at J. J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.

The two-day event features three all-star games, including an Eight-Player contest that kicks off the schedule at 6 p.m. Friday (July 16). Players will compete Saturday (July 17) in the Small School (Division 4-7) game at 2 p.m. and the Large School (Division 1-3) contest at 6 p.m.

The Eight-Player game, which debuted in 2015, features Matt Schoeneman of Mercer/Butternut/Chequamegon coaching the North team and Belmont's Brandon Wiese the South.

Head coaches in the Small School contest are Altoona's Chad Hanson for the North and Mike Fink of St. John's Northwestern Academies for the South.

The head coaches in the Large School game are Rhinelander's Aaron Kraemer for the North and Jim Kenesie of Kenosha Indian Trail and Academy for the South.

All six teams begin practice on Tuesday (July 13), with the North Large and South Eight-Player teams at UW-Oshkosh, North Small and North Eight-Player squads at UW-River Falls and South Large and South Small units at UW-Whitewater.

The WFCA All-Star Classic is being held in Oshkosh for the 39th time. The event was held at Madison's Camp Randall Stadium from 1999 to 2002 and Menasha's Calder Stadium in 2004. Last year's games were canceled due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Fund-raising efforts and proceeds from the games have gone to the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Over the past 15 years, nearly $4 million has been raised to benefit patient care programs.

Both games on Saturday will be televised live on Bally Sports Wisconsin. Fans should search for the local television channel in their viewing area.

Live stats for all three games will be available at: http://www.titans.uwosh.edu/LiveStats/Football/xlive.htm.
