D3football.com All-America Team Includes Three Titans

UW-Oshkosh seniors Reese Dziedzic, Johnny Eagan and Vincent Basile were each named All-Americans for the 2016 season by D3football.com.

Dziedzic was selected to the first team at linebacker while Eagan was tabbed to the second team at safety and Basile to the third team at offensive tackle.

Dziedzic also received All-America second team accolades from the American Football Coaches Association. Basile and Eagan earned their first All-America football honors.

UW-Oshkosh has collected 17 All-America citations from D3football.com since the online organization debuted its national awards program in 1999.

Dziedzic, selected to the D3football.com, All-West Region First Team this season, has started each of UW-Oshkosh's 47 games over the past four seasons. He has been the Titans' leading tackler in all four of his seasons on the way to holding the UW-Oshkosh career record with 327 tackles.

A four-time All-WIAC performer, Dziedzic paces the Titans this season with 41 solo tackles, 46 assisted tackles and 87 total stops, which include seven for loss and two sacks. He has also registered one fumble recovery and one interception this year.

Dziedzic recorded a career-best 16 tackles against UW-Platteville on Oct. 22. He also had nine tackles, including five solo, in the Titans' NCAA postseason victory at University of St. Thomas (Minn.) on Dec. 3.

Dziedzic's other standout performances this season include eight tackles with one sack and one interception against UW-River Falls on Oct. 29 and eight tackles with one fumble recovery against UW-Whitewater on Oct. 8.

For his career, Dziedzic has amassed 25 tackles for loss, 12 pass breakups, eight sacks, four fumble recoveries and four interceptions.

Eagan, a two-time D3football.com All-West Region and All-WIAC selection, leads the Titans with eight interceptions on the year while his 0.60 interceptions per game rank 18th in the country.

Eagan ranks second on the team with eight pass breakups and fourth on the squad with 59 tackles. He made a career-high 10 tackles against both Saint John's University (Minn.) in the second round of the NCAA postseason tournament on Nov. 26 and University of St. Thomas (Minn.) during the quarterfinals on Dec. 3. He also recorded one interception in the win over Saint John's University a career-best three interceptions against University of St. Thomas.

Eagan tallied eight tackles, all solo, against UW-Whitewater on Oct. 8 and snared one interception in UW-Oshkosh victories over John Carroll University (Ohio) on Sept. 3, UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 15, UW-La Crosse on Nov. 5 and UW-Eau Claire on Nov. 12.

During his career, Eagan has compiled 138 tackles, 15 interceptions, 25 pass breakups, four blocked kicks and one fumble recovery. His interception total ranks fifth in school history. Eagan was also a D3baseball.com All-Midwest Region choice last season as a centerfielder for UW-Oshkosh.

Basile, a D3football.com All-West Region second team performer this season, anchors an offensive line that has paved the way for UW-Oshkosh to rank 13th nationally with 263.9 rushing yards per game, 16th with 0.86 sacks allowed per contest and 17th with 4.36 tackles for loss allowed per game.

Basile, a two-time All-WIAC choice, has started 28 straight games and 36 of the Titans' last 37.

UW-Oshkosh plays in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl against University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday (Dec. 16), marking the Titans' first appearance in the title game of the NCAA Division III Football Championship.
