UW-Oshkosh (6-1, 4-0 WIAC), ranked fifth in the NCAA Division III by D3football.com, amassed 639 yards of offense as the Titans remained the lone unbeaten team in conference play. UW-Platteville (5-2, 2-2 WIAC), which entered the 100th meeting between the teams ranked 12th in the nation, allowed its most points since a 63-28 loss to UW-Whitewater in 2005.

Kasper recorded a 69-yard touchdown pass to Zach Kasuboski that gave the Titans a 14-7 lead it wouldn't relinquish with 7:56 remaining in the first quarter. He also tossed third-quarter touchdowns of 15 yards to Craig Schommer and 46 yards to Hecker before hitting Joe Sommers for a 77-yard scoring strike with 9:52 left in the contest.

UW-Platteville took the opening kickoff and marched 54 yards to the end zone on a 19-yard touchdown pass from Tom Kelly to Dan Arnold at the 11:40 mark of the first quarter, but Hecker's first career touchdown pass tied the game less than two minutes later.

An 18-yard touchdown run by Beau Ash extended UW-Oshkosh's lead to 35-7 with 10:03 remaining in the first half as the Titans reached the end zone on each of their first five possessions.

UW-Platteville cut its deficit to 35-14 with another scoring pass from Kelly to Arnold just before halftime and to 35-21 on a 1-yard touchdown run by Kyle Whitman early in the third quarter.

Schommer's touchdown made the score 42-21 with 9:23 left in the third quarter before Kelly's third TD pass to Arnold trimmed the Titan lead to 42-28 with 7:46 to go in the third period.

Hecker then took a screen pass from Kasper 46 yards for a TD to make the score 49-28 with 2:44 remaining in the third quarter, and Cole Yoder returned an interception to the end zone from 23 yards out to push the UW-Oshkosh lead to 56-28 with 13:21 left. Greg Rand's ninth extra point following Sommers's long touchdown catch capped the scoring.
