Titans Ready For Trip To Michigan

UW-Oshkosh plays its only game outside of Wisconsin when it visits Alma College (Mich.) on Saturday (Sept. 22) at 1 p.m. (ET).

The Titans (2-0), who recorded the 400th win in program history last week, are ranked 20th in the NCAA Division III by the American Football Coaches Association. This will be UW-Oshkosh's final non-conference game before closing with seven WIAC opponents.

UW-Oshkosh's defense was key during its 16-7 victory over UW-La Crosse on Sept. 15. The Titans forced nine punts while allowing just 102 yards and nine first downs. Nate Ray (So. • Verona) provided the scoring with three field goals before Cole Myhra's (Jr. • Menomonee Falls) fourth-quarter touchdown put the Eagles away.

For the season, UW-Oshkosh ranks seventh in the nation with 526 offensive yards per game. Nate Wara (Sr. • Oshkosh) has delivered many of those with totals of 513 passing yards and 200 rushing yards. Myhra adds another ground threat with his 188 yards. The WIAC's leading receiver is Caleb Voss (Jr. • Van Dyne), who owns 15 catches for 266 yards and two scores. Taylor Goodman (Sr. • South Wayne) paces the Titans with 14 tackles through two games.

Alma College holds a 0-3 record after starting the year with losses of 45-0 to Heidelberg (Ohio) and 53-7 to Illinois Wesleyan. The Scots fell to Aurora (Ill.) by a 24-21 count on Sept. 15. In a game that featured eight turnovers, Aurora found the end zone with 2:27 left to claim the win.

The Scots average 239 yards of offense per game, while their defense surrenders 401. Quarterback Jarrett Leister has completed 41 percent of his passes with 359 yards and six interceptions. Three different Scots have at least 51 rushing yards, led by 73 from Joey Jerisk. Nate Wade tops the receivers with eight grabs and 91 yards, while Tyler Watters has six catches for 87 yards. Alma's leading tackler is Donald Morin with 25.

This is the first meeting between the two teams.
