Wara Named WIAC Offensive Player Of The Week

After a football game in which he threw a career-high four touchdown passes, UW-Oshkosh quarterback Nate Wara (So. • Oshkosh) has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Offensive Player of the Week for contests played Sept. 20-26.

Wara completed 13-of-19 passes for 246 yards to lead UW-Oshkosh to its highest point total in 29 games as the Titans posted a 43-15 victory over UW-River Falls on Sept. 25 in River Falls.

Wara, who also rushed the football 11 times for 45 yards, tossed touchdown passes of 32 yards in the first quarter, 20 and 12 in the second quarter and 25 in the third. His longest pass completion covered 59 yards.

The WIAC also picked defensive end Brandon Bruger of UW-Stevens Point as its Defensive Player of the Week and linebacker Peter Petersen of UW-Stevens Point as its Special Teams Player of the Week.
