Wara Collects WIAC Offensive Player Of The Week Tribute

The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has named UW-Oshkosh quarterback Nate Wara (So. • Oshkosh) as its Football Offensive Player of the Week for games held Oct. 18-24.

Wara threw for 293 yards and a career-high five touchdown passes as UW-Oshkosh posted a 41-14 Homecoming victory over UW-Platteville on Oct. 23.

Wara completed 27 of 36 passes against the Pioneers, including touchdown passes of 16 yards and one yard in the first quarter, nine yards in the third and one yard and five yards in the fourth. He completed 11-of-13 passes for 106 yards in the third quarter and 7-of-8 passes for 92 yards in the first.

Wara also rushed the football 16 times for a team-high 72 yards and added a punt of 34 yards that was downed at the UW-Platteville five-yard line.

The WIAC selected linebacker Ryan Pearcy of UW-Stout as its Defensive Player of the Week and punter Jared Jenkins of UW-Stevens Point as its Special Teams Player of the Week.
