Heyden Named WIAC Defensive Player Of The Week

The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has selected UW-Oshkosh linebacker Logan Heyden (Sr. • Kenosha) as its Football Defensive Player of the Week for games held Sept. 27-Oct. 3.

Heyden totaled 12 tackles, including 10 solo, as UW-Oshkosh defeated UW-La Crosse, 28-17, on Oct. 2 at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium. The win was the Titans' first over UW-La Crosse since the 1972 season.

Heyden recorded five of his solo tackles in the fourth quarter. His performance helped UW-Oshkosh limit the Eagles to just 28 yards rushing and 54 yards passing in the period.

Heyden also tallied two solo tackles in the first and second quarters.

The WIAC named running back Joel Sweeney of UW-Eau Claire as its Offensive Player of the Week and punt returner Colton Zimmerman of UW-Stevens Point as its Special Teams Player of the Week.
