UW-Oshkosh To Be Represented At NCAA Forum

UW-Oshkosh will be represented by two student-athletes and one administrator at the NCAA Leadership Forum this weekend in Phoenix, Ariz. The conference begins Thursday (April 7) and concludes Sunday (April 10).

Gymnast Danielle Turner (Jr. • Bolingbrook, Ill.) and men’s basketball player Charlie Noone (So. • Oshkosh), along with Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) advisor and head women's gymnastics coach Lauren Karnitz, will attend the forum, which occurs once every four years for UW-Oshkosh.

The forum engages a diverse and dynamic representation of NCAA Division I, II and III student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrators while providing pertinent and customized sessions. Activities enhance personal awareness and demonstrate leadership skills needed to impact student-athlete development at the campus and conference level, and beyond the collegiate realm.

The NCAA Leadership Forum, created in 1997, has been a life-changing experience for nearly 5,000 student-athletes, many who have grown personally and professionally, gained a new network of peers and friends, as well as felt the rewards and importance of community service.

Tennis players Bobby Brooks and Morgan Counts, along with Assistant Director of Athletics Vicci Stimac, represented UW-Oshkosh at the 2013 NCAA Leadership Forum.
