NCAA Division III Week - 2012 Football Final Four

Before 2012, the UW-Oshkosh football team had never made the playoffs.

Riding the leadership of head coach Pat Cerroni and National Offensive Player of the Year QB Nate Wara, the Titans won their first 13 games before falling at the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) in the national semifinal.

UW-Oshkosh went 7-0 in WIAC play for its first league title in 36 years. The Titans reached fourth in the D3football.com rankings while setting school records for wins (13), points scored (525), interceptions (23) and total offense (6,721 yards).

The Titans posted wins over #3 Linfield College, #5 UW-Whitewater, #14 UW-Platteville and #21 Bethel University (Minn.). During the national quarterfinal victory at Linfield, UW-Oshkosh overcame a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit before winning on a Caleb Voss touchdown in overtime.

Seven Titans received All-America honors, including Wara as a first-team selection. Voss (1,333 receiving yards) and Cole Myhra (19 touchdowns) each broke school records while making the all-region team.

UW-Oshkosh’s 13-win season is five more than any other in the program’s 119 years.
