Bio

Aaron Konitzer enters his second season as head wrestling coach at UW-Oshkosh.

During the 2022-23 season, Konitzer led the Titans a 1-5 dual record as head coach and helped individual wrestlers to two individual WIAC titles, two NCAA Division III national qualifications and an All-America honor.

A 2013 UWO graduate, Konitzer received a master's in sports administration from St. Cloud State (Minn.) in 2016. While at St. Cloud State, Konitzer served as a graduate assistant and helped to recruit top-10 national wrestling classes (among non-DI schools) and oversaw a monthly newsletter to help inform parents and alumni of the program. The Huskies won both the Northern Sun Intecolligiate Conference and NCAA Division II titles in 2015 and 2016, with 13 individual All-America and two individual national championship performances. Nineteen wrestlers earned Academic All-America laurels while Konitzer was with St. Cloud State.

Konitzer later served as a coach at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (Pa.) during the 2016-17 season and at UW-Platteville during the 2017-18 season, including developing strength and conditioning programs. At Johnstown, he helped the team to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship and coached five national qualifying wrestlers, two of which earned All-America nods. In the classroom, two Mountain Cats earned Academic All-America nods. At Platteville, three wrestlers qualified for nationals and one became the first national finalist in the history of the Pioneers competing in the NCAA. Three Pioneers were named Academic All-Americans.

Konitzer came to UWO from the Fremont School District, where he oversaw the inaugural season of the wrestling program and made trips to the state tournament.
