Titan Athletics Is Celebrating Juneteenth

OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Oshkosh Athletics Department and the 20 intercollegiate men's and women's sports that wear black and gold on the course, court, field, mat, track and pool join together on Wednesday (June 19) to celebrate Juneteenth.

Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States, celebrated annually on June 19, to honor the end of slavery in this country. The date is in memoriam of when the Emancipation Proclamation was enforced for the final time in Texas on June 19, 1865 which legally freed all slaves in the United States at the end of the American Civil War.
