WRST Radio To Broadcast 20 First-Semester Sporting Events

WRST Radio, UW-Oshkosh's award-winning student-operated station, will offer audio of 20 UW-Oshkosh sporting events during the fall semester of the 2021-22 academic year.

The first broadcast is Saturday (Oct. 2) when the nationally ranked and defending WIAC co-champion UW-Oshkosh football team visits UW-Platteville for a 2 p.m. contest.

WRST will also broadcast seven other UW-Oshkosh football games – Oct. 9 at UW-La Crosse, Oct. 16 vs. UW-Whitewater, Oct. 23 vs. UW-Eau Claire, Oct. 30 at UW-Stout, Nov. 6 vs. UW-Stevens Point and Nov. 13 vs. UW-River Falls.

UW-Oshkosh's Kolf Sports Center will be the location for three women's volleyball, four men's basketball, and five women's basketball broadcasts.

In women's volleyball, WRST will broadcast UW-Oshkosh matches Oct. 6 vs. UW-Platteville, Oct. 20 vs. UW-Stevens Point and Oct. 27 vs. Finlandia University (Mich.).

UW-Oshkosh men's basketball broadcasts by WRST will be Nov. 6 vs. Augustana College (Ill.), Nov. 20 vs. Carthage College, Dec. 1 vs. UW-Eau Claire and Dec. 11 against North Central College (Ill.).

WRST broadcasts featuring the defending WIAC champion UW-Oshkosh women's basketball team will be Nov. 8 vs. Lakeland University, Nov. 19 vs. Alma College (Mich.), Nov. 20 vs. St. Norbert College and Dec. 4 vs. UW-La Crosse.

The lone road basketball broadcast for WRST will be Oct. 31 when the UW-Oshkosh women visit the Kohl Center in Madison for an exhibition game against NCAA Division I member University of Wisconsin.

All 20 broadcasts by WRST can be heard on wrst.org. Fans in the Oshkosh area can also listen to the radio broadcasts at 90.3 FM. The direct audio link can also be found on the UW-Oshkosh Athletics Composite Schedule or each sport's respective schedule page on the UW-Oshkosh Athletics website.

WRST will also broadcast all home WIAC & NCAA Division III postseason events in the sports of football, men's and women's basketball, and women's volleyball.

WRST has won more than 180 awards since 2009. Among them are citations from the Broadcast Education Association, National Broadcasting Society, New York International Radio Festival, Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. WRST's Sports Director for the 2021 fall semester is Jonathon Samp. The Director of Radio Services at UW-Oshkosh is Wendell Ray.

The second semester broadcast schedule for the UW-Oshkosh sports of men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, and softball will be announced by WRST in December.
