Bio

Nancy Demmith, a 1969 graduate of Lena High School, became only the fourth woman to be inducted into the UW-Oshkosh Hall of Fame.

For Demmith, high school athletics were only on the intramural level, but once in college the true athlete shone forth. From 1969-73, she competed in five sports at UW-Oshkosh, with field hockey as her most successful. In that sport she earned Second Team All-Midwest honors as a sophomore and Third Team recognition as a junior and senior.

Demmith spent four years on the volleyball team and through that experience earned a national rating as an official and was selected to work the WIAA Volleyball Championships hosted by UW-Oshkosh last fall.

During Demmith’s senior year as a member of the basketball team, the Titans placed second in the state tournament and advanced to the Midwest Regional in Ohio.

Demmith was a member of the softball team for two years, including the 1971 team which won the state title.

As a track athlete for two years, Demmith competed in the relays, 220-yard dash, long jump and javelin. As a sophomore, she placed sixth in the 220-yard dash at the state meet.

Graduating from UW-Oshkosh in 1973, Demmith presently teaches at Lombardi Middle School in Green Bay where she also coaches track & field and volleyball.
