UWO Tennis Hosts Falcons On Saturday

OSHKOSH, Wis.–The UW-Oshkosh women's tennis team remains at home to host Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival UW-River Falls on Saturday (Oct. 1) at the Kolf Sports Center Outdoor Courts.

UW-Oshkosh (4-1, 0-1 WIAC) is seeking to rebound from an 8-1 home setback to 15-time defending league champion UW-Whitewater on Wednesday (Sept. 28). Despite the Wednesday loss, the Titans are still out to their best start since also opening the 2017-18 campaign with a 4-1 dual record.

The Titans' season-opening winning streak began with a 5-4 home victory over Lawrence University and continued with wins of 8-1 at St. Norbert College, 9-0 at Ripon College and 9-0 at home over Marian University.

Cordelia Damkot is 5-0 in duals at No. 4 Singles for the Titans.

In dual singles play, UW-Oshkosh's Alysa Pattee has a 4-1 record at No. 1, Alexandra Schmoldt is 4-1 at No. 2, Louisa Damkot is 4-1 at No. 3, Jenna Nolde is 3-2 at No. 5 and Hannah Stitt is 3-2 at No. 6.

The Titans' No. 3 Doubles team of Cordelia Damkot and Louisa Damkot is 4-1 in duals on the year while Nolde and Courtney Carpenter have gone 3-2 at No. 2 Doubles.

UW-River Falls (0-5, 0-2 WIAC) has suffered four 9-0 setbacks this season.

UW-Oshkosh sports a 23-14 record against the Falcons since 1985. The Titans are seeking to avenge a pair of losses to UW-River Falls in 2021. The Falcons slipped past UW-Oshkosh, 6-3, in April 2021 before eking out a 5-4 decision last October.
